I have two gently used cages suitable for rats that I'll give away for
free to the first person who can pick them up at my NYC apartment. They need to be picked up by this Friday, March 14, 2008 or they will be put out for Saturday morning trash.

Since I don't have a car or access to one, you'd have to pick these
up. I'll carry them downstairs for you, and you can take it from there!

The story behind these cages: I got my first rat from NYC animal
control and then found out rats need companions. So I adopted friends
for him and then gradually introduced them all to each other. I got a
gigantic custom cage from Quality Cage Co. and moved all 4 male rats
in together. Now I have the 2 other cages with no one living in them.
Instead of throwing them out, I'd like to recycle them to someone who
can use them.

The first cage has a purple plastic bottom with white powder-coated
wire top. It might be a SuperPet brand cage and the size is 40"L x
17"D x about 40"H. This cage is huge and held 3 large male rats
comfortably. There are some shelves that go with it so they can climb
around. This cage is collapsible but is still very long.

The second cage has a white plastic bottom with white powder-coated
wire top. It is a Hagen brand cage and the size is 25"L x 16"D x
15"H. This cage held my first rat while he was a baby and had enough
space for a large wheel, food dishes, etc. This cage does not fold
down but would fit in the back seat of a car.

I live in Woodside/Jackson Heights in Queens, NYC. If you are
interested in either (or both!) of these cages, please respond on the Rattie Health yahoo group, and we can arrange a pick-up time.

Thank you,
Jeannie

I believe Luna picked these up already.
